Materials
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 cups whole milk
- 4 c gruyere 1 c saved not for the mornay Sauce
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 3 eggs
- 12 thin slices Black Forest ham
- 6 slices of bread we used white mountain bread from Publix
Instructions
- Make the mornay Sauce. I added the dijon right to the sauce. Cut shot glass size hole in 3 slices of bread.
- Layer sauce, bread (without hole), ham, sauce, grated gruyere, bread with hole, rest of sauce and then Crack eggs in the hole. Bake covered at 375 for 20-25 and 10 min at 400 uncovered.
