Downtown NYC is one of my favorite places to be in the city and I decided to do my research and plan a safe Staycation during the pandemic. From the hotel to the restaurants, everyone is making an effort to ensure all safety precautions are being taken and we felt totally comfortable sharing our experience with our audience knowing they would have a positive experience.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC right now. They take your temperature at the door and also ask that you wear your mask when the server comes to your table which is an extra precaution that I appreciate. They currently have a pre-fix menu and everything we tried was amazing. I was blown away by their vegetables dishes and the sticky toffee pudding is to die for. The cocktails are incredible as well. IF they have the RIP Airlume- order it J In addition to a well-executed menu, the space is modern and chic and love how they play old school hip hop music!
Being a fan of Jean-Georges, I knew I would love this restaurant. This restaurant is on Pier 17 and the views of the bridges are breathtaking, especially at night as they are lit up. They have ample outdoor space and the indoor is also beautifully decorated and designed and with large windows you still have access to the city views. The menu is seafood focused and we enjoyed a seafood platter, burger and lobster dish as well as a number of desserts. The cocktails were delicious as well.
The One World Observatory is one of the most magical experiences in NYC. The 360 views of NYC are incredible and since it is COVID, the space is not filled up as much so you end up getting a more intimate experience.
One of my favorite things to do is walk around the seaport. There is lots of shopping opportunities and places to grab coffee. We even popped into Sarah Jessica Parkers shoe store and spotted her!
If you are looking to do a staycation I highly recommend visiting Downtown NYC. It is alive and everyone is doing their part in making you feel safe during these difficult times. I look forward to visiting again soon! Let me know if you’ve been or have any questions about my time via comments or DM on my Instagram page
